CKAN Data repository: The role of this component is to host and manage the datasets containing pest infestation prediction and detection and also datasets which are provided by the UCPs. In order to reduce development effort and to ensure the sound operation of the data repository the CKAN platform is reused and adapted. Datasets can be uploaded either programmatically by using the CKAN-API or manually using the CKAN-GUI. In both cases the appropriate metadata descriptions based on DCAT semantics will be assigned to each dataset uploaded. The CKAN-GUI already supports a user-friendly web-form that allows dataset providers to input metadata properties. It should be noted that CKAN data platform fully supports the use of DCAT data descriptions.
